Ventura County
Youth Soccer
Finds the “REAL”
Deal with
Eric Wynalda
and Real

As announced live on youth soccer radio last Wednesday, REAL has been fortunate enough to bring Eric Wynalda on board as the clubs new Technical Director. Eric is a legend in American soccer.

Appearing in three World Cups for the United States, Eric was named Honda Player of the Decade in 2000, was inducted into the US Soccer Hall of Fame in 2004, and if that wasn’t enough he is the second all time leading goal scorer behind current leader Landon Donovan. He held the number one spot for ten years until Landon caught up earlier this year. Eric’s role with the club is to help REAL devise a more efficient method of developing players and implementing an academy structure. Eric Wynalda will be on hand at a number of training sessions, to gain insight into where REAL players and coaches are in the development structure and provide the club with advice on how to improve their training styles to create more complete athletes at all levels of the game.

Eric Wynalda has a dream of changing the way soccer is coached and played in the United States. The dream and philosophy are similar to those of REAL. Eric believes, and REAL agrees, that players need to develop personalities and their own style. Players should not be over-coached, play like robots or move from team to team in search of the “perfect fit”. The perfect fit is found collectively in a group of players who are loyal to each others development and the team’s progress.

Come join Real California FC and Eric Wynalda Academies where you will have a chance to develop pride in your club through the influences of Southern California’s most diverse academy program. A place you can play from age 3 until you leave for college.
